Research/Scholarship:
Dr. Wilson has multiple publications in the area of palliative care physical therapy, which entails advanced cancers, late stage chronic disease management, and frail older adults. He is active in researching the role of physical therapists in safe and healthy aging in place, including adults in palliative care and with life-limiting illnesses. He is a co-author of the chapter Hospice and Palliative Care for the textbook Guccione’s Geriatric Physical Therapy 4th edition published by Elsevier. He was the Guest Editor for the January 2020 Issue of Rehabilitation Oncology focusing on Palliative Care and Hospice. He is the co-principal investigator of the research project entitled Home-Based Older Persons Upstreaming Physical Therapy (HOP-UP-PT). The HOP-UP-PT program has been the recipient of over $240,000 in grant funding since its inception in 2015.
